President's Profile

Colin Frager is one of a few professional recruiters who has spent his entire career in the recruiting field. He has over 20 years of recruiting experience in a variety of settings, which include retained executive search, corporate recruiting, contingency recruiting firms, and contract recruiting; working on domestic and international assignments.

Mr. Frager began his recruiting career with Frederick Lange and Company, a regional retained search firm based in New Jersey. The company worked on middle and senior management positions. He started as a researcher and was promoted to a search consultant.

After four years with Frederick Lange and Company he had a unique opportunity to start his own recruiting firm, Scandinavian American Business Systems, Inc. He established the "first ever" contract with the National Labor Board of the Government of Sweden which gave his company exclusive rights to the recruitment of all medical professionals in Sweden. Mr. Frager managed offices in Stockholm, Sweden and in New York. He placed candidates in positions nationally. Having developed a database of more than 10,000 active Scandinavian medical professionals, Mr. Frager took an opportunity to sell his company and database and return to a corporate setting.

He joined a Boston based rehab hospital which was operating rehab centers on the east coast, as the Director of Recruiting.  Here he was responsible for all recruiting needs from entry level through senior management.  His team of five recruiters managed the recruiting needs for multiple locations on the East coast.  He ran this team like a search firm and primarily direct sourced the competition to attract the best candidates to join the company. 

Looking for a change, Mr. Frager relocated to Boulder, Colorado to join a large manufacturing company where he spearheaded their corporate recruiting operations. 

Recognizing the difficulty many companies face in finding talented business leaders for critical management positions, Mr. Frager decided to start Colin Phillips Group in October 1997. Under Mr. Frager's leadership the firm has realized considerable growth without sacrificing the same level of quality it started with.

Mr. Frager has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Monmouth University and has received his Master's Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of New Haven. Mr. Frager is a member of numerous trade and industry associations.

When Mr. Frager is not working, you will find him enjoying the many benefits of living in Boulder, Colorado; cycling, skiing, hiking and keeping up with friends and family.
